Volunteers make weekly visits to a nursing home. They meet with residents to educate them about their rights and to advocate for their needs.

Ombudsman is Swedish for "citizen advocate".

An Ombudsman is asked to make a 1 year commitment.

Initial training, in conjunction with the MA State Ombudsman Program, is a 3 day training. Monthly meetings are held for ongoing support and training.

SSES is a private non-profit agency established in 1977. Based in Braintree,MA, we serve Braintree, and the surrounding towns of: Cohasset, Hingham, Holbrook, Hull, Milton, Norwelll, Quincy, Randolph, Scituate, Weymouth. We are committed to providing a wide range of programs and services to elders over the age of 60, and their caregivers. We work closely with each consumer to deliver services that reflect individual needs, personal choice, and self-determination.
