The Healthy Aging Association is currently looking for responsible individuals who would like to make a difference in the lives of older adults. Volunteer openings range from 1-day events, once monthly, or once/twice weekly. The opportunities vary from making phone calls to distribution of fresh fruit and vegetables. Free Training is available for the committed volunteer. To hear more on how you can make a difference with older adults, please attend a virtual Volunteer Orientation which is scheduled for Friday, February 5 at 10:30 am. All volunteers will be able to volunteer safely following all COVID-19 safety protocols. Masks, gloves and hand sanitizer will be provided as appropriate.

Description

Ou fitness program includes strength training exercises for eight major muscle groups, flexibility components and balance training. We use rubber exertubes with soft grip handles, no weights. Most exercises can be done seated or standing. We have 36 sites throughout Stanislaus County catering to 60 years and better.

  • Driver's License Needed
  • Must be at least 18
  • Orientation or Training
  • Varies. Virtual Young At Heart classes -once/twice a week for 1.5 hours Matter of Balance classes requires 2.3 hours per 8 week session Green Bag Program is once a month for 2 hours. 1 day events could be 2-4 hours once a year if permitted.
  • Spanish speaking or other languages is a plus. Healthy Lifestyle is preferred. Volunteer opportunities are usually in the mornings.
