Norfolk County RSVP Volunteer Program is seeking a male or female age 55 or older to visit weekly or everyother week with John. John has 'aphasia' and works hard at speaking clearly to be understood. He loves to talk about the days when he was active in his trade and traveled widely. He is a bright man with a good sense of humor. John loves to socialize. If you are patient and creative, this will be a very rewarding opportunity for you.
Hours are flexible. Just give one hour a week or every other week. We have great suggestions on how to make your time with John enjoyable and meaningful.

Norfolk County RSVP has volunteer opportunities for people aged 55 & over in 28 cities and towns at over 50 volunteer sites. Volunteer opportunities include mentoring pre-release inmates, tutoring elementary school children, drivers for Veterans, meals on wheels and food pantires, friendly visiting, non-profit support services and many more! N.C. RSVP will find the volunteer opportunity that best fits your interests & schedule and impacts the needs that are most critical to our county's communities. N.C. RSVP provides mileage reimbursement, accident & liability insurance, an invitation to our annual recognition event, monthly newsletters, orientation & training.
