ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross Central California Region

Please join the American Red Cross on Saturday, April 27th for an impactful, fun, and simple way for volunteers from all walks of life to work together to provide a solution to a devastating national problem: home fires. The Red Cross continues its mission to reduce fire related deaths and injuries in the U.S. by 25% within 5 years. Through the campaign's Install Events, the Red Cross teams up with Fire Departments, local partners, businesses, community groups, and amazing volunteers like you to install free smoke alarms and provide preparedness education to fellow residents throughout our community.

This April we are very excited to invite you to be a part of bringing this impactful campaign to the city of Fresno! We hope that you will join us and register today for the Sound the Alarm, Save a Life Service Event on Saturday, April 27th from 9am-1pm.

What should I expect day of?

A fun day of preparing families against home fires and making your community safer. Together, we will canvass neighborhoods, knock on doors, check smoke alarms in homes and replace if necessary, education families about home fire safety, build evacuation plans with them and document our services

Bring a team with you! We prefer everyone to register ahead of time so we are prepared to provide an excellent volunteer experience. If you don’t have time to register ahead, that’s okay, we will have forms available onsite.

Youth under 18 may participate but require a parental consent to participate in Sound the Alarm events. Please print out and have your parent/guardian fill out the Parental Consent form. Bring it with you to the Registration table on the day of the event. Opportunities available for youth are Documenter and Educator positions on Installation Teams.
