VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Our weekly volunteer positions include:

Cabin counselors who live and sleep in the cabins and help to guide campers throughout the week. We need male and female volunteers for all summer sessions; the number of staff depends on the ages and needs of the population. Counselors will have the most interaction with campers and should be prepared to jump in and be a part of the fun.

Medical volunteers who provide medical care at each Camp session. The medical staff distributes medication, tends to daily medical needs and makes sure that everyone receives the medical care they need during their stay. They work as a team and are an integral part of the community. The medical staff includes, physicians, registered nurses, physician assistants and nurse practitioners.

Dream team who work in the kitchen to provide nutritious meals for every Camp session. The dream team will assist the Camp chef with meal preparation, serving and clean up. When they aren’t helping out in the kitchen, they are encouraged to join in the activities happening all around campus.

Program assistants who help in a variety of different areas around campus depending upon the needs of the session and the skills of the applicants. They may help in the art studio, office or with general program activities. Program assistants with special skills or talents may also be incorporated into the week’s programming.

Daily volunteer positions include:

Presenters who are interested in providing expertise on a wide variety of subjects - such as yoga, nutrition, or specialized art projects in a workshop setting. or bringing fun group activity to camp. Contact us for more information or if you feel you have a special skill or talent you’d like to share with our campers.

Medical check-in support volunteers to assist during camper check-in and medication organization upon arrival. This position is open to medical providers, pharmacists and select students in the medical field.

Camp Mak-A-Dream empowers survivors and their families to live with and beyond cancer through life-changing Montana experiences where they strengthen life skills, gain resilience and develop lasting relationships.

Description

We are located in Gold Creek Montana and serve children, young adults and families affected by cancer across the United States. We will host 5 camps this summer (Young Adult Conference (ages 18-30), Teen Camp (ages 15-18), Kids Camp (ages 6-14), Siblings Camp for children ages 6-17 with a brother, sister or parent with cancer, Heads Up Conference (A pilot program for survivors of pediatric brain tumors 18-25). We also host 4 Women's Conferences (Ovarian Specific and general diagnosis) in the spring and fall and family camps throughout the year. Our newest programs are two Caregiver Retreats, one for a survivor and immediate care provider and one for medical professionals.

Regardless of the program session, our goal is to provide a medically supervised, cost free Montana experience for individuals and families affected by cancer.
