Mead Botanical Garden, Inc., and The City of Winter Park are seeking volunteers interested in habitat restoration to assist with removal of non-native, invasive plants within several key areas with Mead Garden. These plants destroy habitat by crowding out native plants that fauna rely on for food, cover, and nesting sites.

Volunteers will be cutting invasive vines, removing other non-native vegetation, and picking up litter throughout the park. A limited number of cutting tools will be provided for the invasive plant control. Volunteers should bring their own cutting tools, like loppers or hand pruners, and gardening gloves, if available. Closed-toed shoes and long pants are recommended. Bring a refillable water bottle to stay hydrated.

Water coolers and snacks provided.

Volunteer should sign up on Eventbrite so we can communication with you if there are any changes. Please use this link to sign up: https://habitatrestoration021619.eventbrite.com

This is a great opportunity to be outside and get some exercise while helping your community and local wildlife.
