Our purpose is to restore, develop and sustain Mead Botanical Garden as an urban oasis; a refuge for wildlife, a garden emphasizing nature, sustainability and learning, and a place for contemplation, celebration, and recreation.
The Friends of Mead Garden formed in 2003 to revitalize the almost 70 years old 47.5-acre biological asset known as Mead Bot anical Garden; to engage more people in the enjoyment of and education about nature. In 2011 we changed the corporate name to Mead Botanical Garden, Inc., (MBG) to define and establish the entity to go with this unique property.
In partnership with the City of Winter Park, the Mead Botanical Garden, Inc. assess the needs of the community, develop plans with community engagement, and raise funds to achieve the vision for Mead Botanical Garden.
