About Us
Children Striving Together is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing mentorship, resources, and positive outlets for youth in underserved communities. Our mission is to create safe spaces that foster growth, creativity, and support, enabling every child to thrive. As part of our efforts to expand and strengthen our programs, we invite volunteers to serve on our committees and make a meaningful impact.
Position Overview
We are seeking passionate and motivated volunteers to join one of CST’s committees. Committees play a vital role in supporting our programs and ensuring their success. By serving on a committee, you will develop valuable skills, contribute to the growth of our mission, and have a potential path to future board membership after a year of service. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the community while honing your leadership and teamwork abilities.
Below are the current committees available for volunteer involvement:
Mentor Program Committee: Support mentor recruitment, develop workshop content, and track mentor-mentee progress.
Tutoring Committee: Coordinate tutoring sessions, recruit volunteers, and monitor academic progress.
Enrichment Activities Committee: Organize arts, STEM, sports, and life skills activities for students.
Special Events Committee: Plan and execute CST’s signature events, including community and fundraising events.
Fundraising Committee: Create fundraising campaigns, pursue grants, and engage donors to support our work.
Outreach Committee: Build community relationships, represent CST, and assist with marketing and volunteer recruitment.
Qualifications
- Team-Oriented: Able to work effectively with others in a committee setting.
- Organizational Skills: Strong ability to manage tasks, timelines, and projects.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Passion for Youth: A genuine commitment to making a positive impact on underserved youth.
- Flexible: Able to contribute in a remote or hybrid environment.
- Commitment: Willing to dedicate time and effort to the committee for at least 6 months.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to support at-promise youth and children in L.A. and Orange Counties by offering a variety of activities and events that foster their growth as individuals. We provide programs based on children’s interests, including art, sports, music, dance, volunteer opportunities, high school and college prep workshops, and more.
Description
CST members have access to a diverse experience that combines fun, skill-building, community, and personal development. Our programs grow and evolve based on the needs and interests of our local youth and provide a safe outlet for them to explore their talents. One of our main goals is to teach children that their struggles and obstacles don’t determine their lives; they can always overcome adversity with help and hard work. Our members leave CST with leadership and social skills, academic improvement, and a built-in community they can rely on. Our main focus is to offer our youth the life skills that will positively shape their futures. The future of CST is bright. Our initial goal was to impact the world starting with our community; we’re now well on our way. We hope to eventually have youth centers worldwide, offering greater academic support, activities, and events catered to their specific communities, and a chance to add value to the lives of youth everywhere.
