Are you fluent in Spanish? Are you caring, helpful and adaptable?

As a Bi-lingual Spanish-Speaking Hospice Patient and Family Support Volunteer for Hospice by the Bay, you’ll be making a significant difference for someone facing end-of-life challenges. Your meaningful contributions will support the Hospice Care Team by:

> Relieving a family caregiver
> Providing companionship to patients
> Listening to life stories
> Playing their favorite music
> Reading a book
> Writing letters and memories
> Assisting with a favorite activity
> Running an errand or doing small chores
> Accompanying a patient on an outing

In return you’ll learn all about hospice care and receive comprehensive training to prepare you for working with our patients and their families.

"I took the (excellent!) training class and have been volunteering for the past three years. The work is very rewarding, each assignment touching my heart. No matter how challenging the case may be, there is reassurance in knowing that the most amazing team of professionals is always supporting us. It is truly a privilege to be volunteering with HBTB."

We hope you’ll consider joining our caring team! We’re especially looking for volunteers who can visit patients in San Francisco and San Mateo Counties. Hospice by the Bay was founded by dedicated volunteers more than 40 years ago and they are still at the heart of what we do.

To apply, visit www.hbtb.org/volunteers/ or call (415) 626.5900 for more information.
