POSITION: DRIVER
We need adults who believe in our mission to help with the transport of picking up produce from the Leucadia Farmers Market on Sundays and delivering it directly to feeding agencies located in San Diego. You will be delivering the collected produce in your car, or in our ProduceGood Van, straight to an organization that helps the food get into the hands of San Diego's food-insecure. Volunteer drivers may also bring a buddy along on their volunteer shifts (ex. your friend, neighbor, spouse, child), as long as minors complete a Minor Release Form prior to attending the shift. Description
We're a food recovery organization but not a traditional one. We go to the source of surplus produce - backyard orchards, farms, farmers' markets, and grocery stores - to recover the excess and transport it to food pantries, shelters, and other organizations that help food-insecure San Diegans.
