ORGANIZATION: Home of the Sparrow, Inc

Help make a change in the lives of homeless women and children by supporting Home of the Sparrow's Sparrow's Nest Thrift Stores. Volunteers are essential in supporting our programs and services.

Sparrow's Nest Volunteers provide assistance throughout all areas of the store.
Primary duties and qualifications include but are not limited to:

  • Accepting, sorting, cleaning, pricing, and displaying donated merchandise
  • Positions in specialized areas such as cashiering, floral arrangement, window dressing, and store design
  • Ability to commit to a minimum of 3-4 hours weekly

All Sparrow's Nest Thrift Store locations include: Cary, McHenry, Mundelein, Palatine, Third Lake, Woodstock and Community Threads in Arlington Heights. Shifts available Monday-Saturday, 10:00AM - 5:00PM.

Home of the Sparrow provides Hope, Opportunity and Support to empower women and children as they journey from homelessness to self-sufficiency.

Description

Volunteers are the backbone of Home of the Sparrow. Each time you volunteer, you become part of a woman’s story as she journeys to self-sufficiency!

Home of the Sparrow provides Transitional Shelter, as well as Affordable Housing and Rapid Re-Housing for women and children. Our Supportive Services address the core issues of homelessness.

We invite you to volunteer and shop at our Sparrow's Nest and Community Tread Thrift Stores. Stores are located in Woodstock, McHenry, Cary, Palatine, Mundelein, Third Lake, and Arlington Heights.
