ORGANIZATION: Women's Daytime Drop-In Center

The Women's Daytime Drop-In Center is searching for an group counselor/coach to lead a counseling group geared toward women's empowerment. Through this practice, women gain skills in identifying and managing stressors in their lives, including homelessness, relationship difficulties, and other major life challenges. If you have direct counseling experience specifically with homelessness, DV, or empowerment issues and would like to donate an hour a week on Tuesday mornings (flexible times) to lead a support group for these women, please contact Jana Hiraga, at 510.548.2884 or email us at volunteer@womensdropin.org. We believe that all human beings deserve to have stable housing and to live full and productive lives. The Women's Daytime Drop-In Center empowers women and children to move from the streets to a home by providing ongoing and intensive counseling, case management services, transitional housing, and a safe daytime refuge.

Description

Our services include:

  • Hospitality window - serving meals to go, groceries, hygiene products, diapers
  • Intensive case management to assist with obtaining and maintaining housing.
  • Children's Program offering positive play and educational activities.
  • Extensive housing resource information, referral, and advocacy.
  • Bridget Transitional House.
