The Annual Winter Ball is the primary fundraiser for Wishes & More. We have approximately 720 guests who attend -- individuals, couples, companies - almost all are adult attendees. The event consists of a social hour with bidding on auction items and fun activities for people to play, a special program highlighting the annual activities of Wishes & More, a live auction and finished with a DJ/dance!

The 2020 Wishes & More Winter Ball - Saturday, February 1st at the Marriott City Center in Minneapolis

The weekend of activities requires a lot of volunteer support. We welcome groups AND individuals like to come together to sign up and help us raise money for our programming. We appreciate your support!

Volunteers Needed:

• Friday, January 31st - Day Before Event:
• We need roughly 10-15 able bodied people anytime between 10:30am - 6:00pm at the WAM Office and storage spaces (Fridley, MN) and Marriott City Center to help with loading from our office and storage spaces and unloading at the event space.

• Saturday, February 1st - Day of Event:
• Pre-event: 80 volunteers needed anytime from 8am-4pm at the Marriott City Center. Groups AND individuals are welcome to attend and assist in: unloading trucks, creating and organizing auction displays, constructing and setting up décor areas, collating gift bags, setting up registration, organizing event, setting out items on guest chairs, putting up signage
• During Event: 50 volunteers to support the event activities from 3pm-11pm (need to attend entire timeframe) at the Marriott City Center. All volunteers may be handling money for WAM and must complete a background check in addition to being professional adults to support the event. Different event roles include: registration, auction, program, photography, coat check, raffles (event activity volunteers). Volunteersshould be well-versed in technology and outgoing enough to be willing helpers for guests that may need assistance with.
• Post Event: Roughly 25 people from 10:30pm-1:30am at the Marriott City Center. Tasks may include but are not limited to: event cleanup and teardown, putting away the décor, boxing up winning auction items, and throwing away garbage and boxes.

• Sunday, February 2nd - Day After Event: 20 able bodied people needed anytime between 10:00am - 3:00pm at the Marriott City Center and WAM Office and storage spaces (Fridley, MN) to help with the loading from the event space (10am-noon) and unloading at our office and storage spaces (noon-3pm)
