Wishes & More a local MN charity that grants wishes, scholarships and memorials to children with terminal or life threatening conditions is looking for in-office volunteers familiar with Microsoft Office Suite programs to help with general office duties. Database entries, donor thank yous, and other office tasks require dedicated volunteers who would enjoy committing to ongoing responsibilities at the Wishes & More office located in Fridley. Retired individuals with bookkeeping and/or office skills are encouraged to apply. Every support role is important to fulfilling the Wishes & More mission!

Memorial Process Volunteer

In addition to granting extraordinary Wishes, Wishes & More provides $1,000.00 Memorials to the families of children that sadly pass away before receiving a Wish. We need an in-office volunteer to help us process these Memorials when they come in. Duties: Entry of data from the Memorial Application to our Salesforce Database. Track the status of Memorials and update the database as needed. Prepare forms and letters to send to families. Organize files as needed. Time Commitment: 3-4 hours/week + a volunteer orientation. Skills: Attention to detail, organized, experience in Salesforce and SharePoint helpful, but not needed. It is a pretty simple process, and we are happy to teach you!

Solicitation Volunteer

Wishes & More needs volunteers to help make phone calls, emails, and in-person asks to solicit various organizations for our upcoming golf fundraiser. We need helping asking for donations, building connections, and gathering community support. All donations will be used in a silent or live auction in June. Skills: Communicative, outgoing, gracious, organized, comfortable asking for donations, comfortable talking to strangers, comfortable talking on the phone.

Wish Process Volunteer

There are many steps involved in granting a wish, and the Wish Team needs support in many of these steps. We need an in-office volunteer that can think on their feet, is quick to learn new tasks, and will be enthusiastic in supporting the wish process in a variety of ways. Duties: Creation of Wish itineraries. Creation of Wish budgets. Prepare forms and letters to send to families. Write thank you letters for donors. Entry of data from the Wish Application to our Salesforce Database. Track the status of Wishes and update the database as needed. Wish research as needed. Maintenance of closed out files. Other duties as assigned. Time Commitment: 3-4 hours/week + a volunteer orientation. We are very flexible with the schedule so reach out whether or not you can commit to this fully. Skills: Experience in Canva, Microsoft Suite (Excel & Word), Salesforce Database and SharePoint helpful, attention to detail, organized.

Description

The purpose of Wishes and More, a Minnesota-based children's wish granting organization, is to grant the wish of a child between birth and nineteen who has a terminal or life-threatening condition. We also provide a Scholarship Of Hope to be used for higher education; or give a memorial to the family in the event the child does not survive to have his/her wish fulfilled.
