Volunteers

Join the volunteer team at Community Threads to help produce funding for homeless women and children. Community Threads supports Home of the Sparrow (www.hosparrow.org) by using volunteer labor and donated goods to generate funds that directly impact homeless women and children. From outreach and prevention to providing a variety of housing options, HOS is rapidly growing in the number of homeless women and children they are able to serve. In 2011, HOS served 105 individuals. That number jumped to 831 individuals in 2016.

By volunteering at Community Threads, you can spend your time sorting donations, organizing items on the sales floor, or assisting as a cashier. Your time with us is valuable - we can accommodate your service at any time. We offer same-day orientation so that we can make the most of your time spent serving at Community Threads. Volunteers can serve during store hours: Tuesdays-Saturdays from 10am-5pm.

Mission Statement

Community Threads is a nonprofit ministry that makes grants and runs programs supporting education and the relief of poverty.

Description

Community Threads brings together a network of local ministries to help the homeless and underserved in our community through the operation of a nonprofit thrift store. The store provides a way for these ministries, our donors and shoppers to make a difference in these tough times. Through your donations of quality goods, Community Threads is able to provide the best stuff at the lowest possible price to shoppers on a budget and then return all the profits back to our communities for much needed services.

All profits from the store go directly to provide quality education to needy students, shelter for the abused and homeless, addiction recovery programs and other critical services right here where we live. We welcome new volunteers into the store. Sign up for our e-newsletter for special coupons and store news.
