Chef at Community Meals
Initiative: Beyond the Basics
Impact area: Basic needs (food, clothing, housing)
Location(s): Hartford, CT
Hours: Weekday afternoons
Desired level of commitment: Once every six weeks
Duration: Year-round
Age requirement: 18+
Tasks may include:
* Leading the provision of a meal for 100 people with provided ingredients
* Prepping, cooking and serving a meal
* Willingness to assist another chef at least 3 times prior to serving as chef
In order to volunteer, you should be:
* A registered UAServe volunteer (you will have a chance to register if you haven't already)
* Willing to attend an orientation prior to serving
* Willing to submit a background check
* Open to an ongoing volunteer commitment that works with your schedule
* An experienced cook or chef
* Personable
* Willing to take initiative
* Reliable
* Patient
* Honest
