Moving Day Dayton Committee

ORGANIZATION: Parkinson's Foundation

The Parkinson's Foundation Ohio Chapter is excited to be bringing our signature event, Moving Day, to Dayton, Ohio this summer on Saturday, June 29, 2019! Moving Day is a fun and inspiring fundraising event that unites families, friends, and communities both large and small in the fight against Parkinson’s disease. This celebration of movement features a family friendly walk course, a kids’ area, and a special Movement Pavilion featuring Delay the Disease, Dance for PD, Rock Steady Boxing, and other exercise classes that can all help manage the symptoms of PD. Proceeds raised from the campaign help to improve the quality of care for people with Parkinson’s disease through research, education, and outreach.

We are looking for dedicated members of the Dayton community to join our Moving Day Dayton Planning Committee. The committee helps to spread the word in the community, assists with planning details, and acts as a lead for various areas on the day of the event. We are seeking individuals for the following roles:

  • Event Chair - Serves as the Committee Lead for Moving Day, working closely with Parkinson’s Foundation staff to ensure all meetings are successful and that all aspects of the event are taken care of.
  • Corporate and Medical Community Teams Lead - Works on securing corporate contacts for corporate and medical community teams and sponsors.
  • Friends and Family Teams Lead - Recruits team captains who will form teams and fundraise. In addition, the Friends and Family Teams Lead will assist Parkinson’s Foundation staff with team captain follow-up calls and emails.
  • Volunteer Lead - Helps Parkinson’s Foundation staff recruit volunteers for the Moving Day event. Communicates with volunteers during the months leading up to the event and directs volunteers on the day of the event.
  • Kids' Zone Lead - Creates a fun and engaging activity area for children (of all ages).
  • Food and Beverage Lead - Secures food/beverage donations for Moving Day.
