Share your love of Nature & Wildlife by serving as a Trail Maintenance Volunteer at the new Eccles Wildlife Education Center at Farmington Bay! Your service will include walking the nature trail and reporting any significant maintenance needs to the center's staff. You will help us keep the nature trail in good condition by puling weeds, filling holes and performing other light maintenance duties. This position requires standing and walking in both indoor and outdoor settings, in all weather conditions and possibly for extended periods of time on uneven terrain. This position could also involve lifting, bending, twisting, stooping and other physical activities associated with working in the outdoors. Shifts are available any time during open hours. Volunteers must commit to at least one shift per month. Hours vary. Training and background check will be provided prior to serving. This volunteer opportunity is offered through Davis Co. Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) and is for people age 55 or better. Benefits of volunteering through RSVP include mileage reimbursement for travel between home and the volunteer station, as well as supplemental insurance coverage while serving. Call us today for more information and to enroll as a volunteer. Pat Brown, Davis RSVP Volunteer Coordinator 801-525-5052 or pbrown@daviscountyutah.gov.

About Davis County RSVP

Location:

42 South State Street, Clearfield, UT 84015, US

Mission Statement

Davis County RSVP empowers and enables Americans 55+ in addressing community needs and concerns through volunteering.

Description

Americans 55+ have a lifetime of experience to share and the desire to make a real difference in their world. Members of this mature generation have managed households, been business owners and nurses, farmers and salespeople, artists and executives. Now they are ready to put their unique talents and expertise to work in their communities, and enrich their own lives in the process.

RSVP is the connection to aid volunteers in choosing how and where to serve, time of service, causes to support, and how to get started. RSVP provides pre-service orientation, training from the organization where service is given, supplemental insurance while on duty, and, in some cases, a mileage reimbursement to cover the cost of travel between home and the volunteer site.

When you volunteer, you're not just helping others - you're helping yourself. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Plus, studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life.
