Art Day is an annual New York Edge event of visual & performing arts designed to build self- confidence and empowerment through art workshops. This year's theme is Pathways to Success: Technology & the Arts. 300 students K-12 from schools around the five New York City boroughs will participate.
Volunteers will assist with set up, T-shirt distribution, help students with their transitions, serve as time keepers for workshops, set up cafeteria, distribute lunch, assist with lining students to the stage for the culminating performance, and assist with clean up at end of the day
Volunteers should dress comfortably and wear closed-toed shoes. Lunch is provided. There will be morning and afternoon shifts available.
Morning Shift: 8:30am-12:00pm
Afternoon Shift: 12:00pm-4pm

The mission of New York Edge is to help bridge the opportunity gap among underserved students by providing programs designed to improve academic performance, health and wellness, self-confidence, character and attitudes for success in life.
Description
Operating between three and five days each week for 36 weeks during the school year in most programs, we offer combined academic enrichment curricula including: literacy, STEM, leadership, High School Today College Tomorrow (HSTCT) and Middle School Today High School Tomorrow (MSTHST) with sports and wellness, music, visual and performing arts opportunities and trips to educational and cultural institutions.
