Are you interested in helping low-income youth get a college degree? Would you like to be part of an organization that gives thousands of dollars each year to deserving students who aspire to improve their lives and community? Join Education First and be a leader in your local community. For 20 years, Education First has been providing need-based college scholarships to underserved communities and has awarded $1,000,000 to date. If so, Education First is seeking a dedicated volunteer to coordinate our volunteer recruiting efforts.
Location: Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Austin or Boston
As the Volunteer Coordinator for Education First, you would be responsible for working with the Volunteer Success Director to:
On-boarding volunteers making sure they have an active account and profile
Make respective postings on Volunteer Match or similar services
Participating in your regional activities (scholar interviews, fundraising events, etc.)
The best candidates are self-motivated, have a passion for the cause, graduated from college, and are familiar with Microsoft Office products and/or Google Drive. We also encourage professionals in their 20's and 30's to apply as we value giving leadership opportunities to those early in their career.
The time commitment varies between 4 and 6 hours per month. The position is designed so it can be held by those with other commitments.

Founded in 1995 by a group of recent college graduates, Education First is a nonprofit organization providing college scholarships to lo income youth. The founders of Education First believe that higher education can assist in breaking generational poverty. To promote our mission, we provide both financial and mentoring support to students. Education First targets students who have overcome significant life challenges and are seldom recognized for their achievements.
