Do you have a talent for sewing or crafting?

Good Shepherd Hospice would love volunteers to sew/create Remembrance Bears for our patients!

Remembrance Bears are created for the families dealing with a loss of a loved one. Our sewing volunteers use a special piece of clothing that belonged to the patient that can be made into a Remembrance Bear. It can be a shirt, dress, pants or bathrobe. This bear is a treasured keepsake for children, grandchildren, or other family members who would like a huggable reminder of the person that they love. It is such a wonderful gift to our patient's families!

If you have a talent for sewing and want to give back, contact our Volunteer Coordinator and give the gift of comfort to a grieving family.

Mission Statement

Serving people with compassion and dignity.

Description

COMPASSIONATE ABOUT CARE. passionate about life.

At Good Shepherd Hospice, we believe that health care is more than just a diagnosis and a treatment. It is a daily exercise in making this moment...this today...the very best it can be. We're here to help our patients achieve that goal - physically, mentally, spiritually... and for whatever that means individually.

We believe that in the passing of a person's life, there are also extraordinary opportunities for compassion, reconciliation, spiritual healing, and renewal.

Our volunteers play a vital role in our Hospice program. From working in the office, to creating special projects at home, to visiting to provide companionship and ease loneliness, Good Shepherd Hospice Volunteers make special moments happen again and again for the patients and families we serve.

Our History - 23 Years of Comforting and Serving

Good Shepherd Hospice opened its first office in Oklahoma City in 1995. We now have a regional presence serving Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Texas. Along the way, we've touched the lives of more than 20,000 patients and shepherded 50,000 + family members through their time of need. Every member of our team receives comprehensive, ongoing training. We are a member of the National Hospice and Palliative Care Association, Medicare Certified and State Licensed.
