Be a Summit Hospice Volunteer! Provide companionship to a hospice patient - reading, praying, watching tv, taking a walk, listen to your patient reminisce (living history!), and just be a friend!
No specific skills are needed other than having a giving heart, being a good listener, and offering a loving presence.
A few hours a month is all that is needed to make a wonderful difference in someone's life!
Our volunteers are an integral part of our Summit Hospice Team. Volunteers provide a non-judgmental, loving presence to patients and their families on hospice at an extremely vulnerable and often lonely time. Volunteers do not have to be there, they want to be. Volunteers often form close and special relationships with patients and their families, and this bond can be an amazing gift to the patient and family. There is often a powerful sense of shared fulfillment.
