Enjoy gardening, or would you like to learn more about native plants? Use your time, energy and talent to help our demonstration gardens grow and flourish. A strong interest in Florida native plants, and conservation issues are very helpful. Having a green thumb is not a prerequisite!
Duties include:
- Learning about Florida native plants in our Butterfly and Demonstration gardens.
- Cleanup/trim/weed in our native gardens, seed collection, propagation, potting, etc.
- Volunteers must be able to work in the heat, to bend, squat, dig, chop, and lift 20 lbs.
- Volunteers must give a minimum of two 2-3 hour volunteer shifts per month.
We depend on volunteers to keep our demonstrations gardens in shape- join our team!

Description
Grassy Waters Preserve offers unique educational and guided recreational opportunities on the edge of a 20+ square mile wetlands resource. The Preserve includes Nature Center Pavilions, boardwalk trails, hiking, biking, canoeing, kayaking, educational programs and more! Apoxee Urban Wilderness Park is located on the Southeast corner of Grassy Waters Preserve.
