A cornerstone of our mission is to increase inclusion of people with disabilities in our community. One of the ways that we do this is by creating inclusive programming. Our volunteers are called peer participants, and participate and engage fully in programs and activities alongside our members.
Therefore, as a peer participant, you are benefiting from free, high quality social and recreational programs, while making an impact of the lives of people with disabilities.
For our new program called Express Yourself - Improv, Drama, and Song, we will bring in a variety of experienced educators, including a local improv training group and professional music and drama teachers. Participants are encouraged to learn new things and express themselves creatively in a safe and supportive environment.
The program will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-6:00pm, from February 5th-May 30th.
If you can only come one day or the other that’s fine. Volunteers are welcome to come in for the first couple weeks to try the program and get a feel for it before committing to the full series.
