This is a Red Cross National Headquarters (NHQ) position that supports the International Services (ISD) department, specifically the Restoring Family Links (RFL) program. The Restoring Family Links program helps reconnect families separated internationally by war, disaster and migration. Volunteers in this position are responsible for supporting and developing the RFL social media strategy. They will work with partners to curate and develop content and expand community awareness.
This position reports to the National Headquarters Office located at 431 18th St NW, Washington, DC 20006 and averages 8 - 12 hours per week during business hours.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop social media strategies and generate content for social media (such as infographics, and blog posts)
- Maintain Restoring Family Links Blog
- Write reports about social media trends
- Support the Red Cross chapter network in their efforts to promote and grow the Restoring Family Links program
- Manage media-related casework
Qualifications and Skills
- Experience maintaining and creating blog content required
- Ability to work with and for diverse community groups
- Excellent written and oral communication skills (English required)
- Interest or experience in public speaking, presentation or training
- Proficiency with Microsoft products, familiarity with social media tools and resources
