Join us for Everett’s biggest and most anticipated annual forest-planting community celebration: Green Everett Day! This is the Green Everett Partnership’s first planting event of the wet season, and our largest annual event that celebrates our forests. Everett residents and volunteers will join together at Hannabrook Park to help plant a native forest and care for the park’s natural areas. The hundreds of trees and shrubs planted along Pidgeon Creek #2 will grow into a beautiful forest, create habitat along this salmon-bearing stream, and will be a community asset for all!
Tools, gloves, coffee, snacks, and instruction all provided! There will also be prizes and gifts from local businesses.

Mission Statement
Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.
Description
Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
