We're a very small nonprofit in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago that provides drop-in services to homeless teens. Salesforce has graciously given us their Nonprofit Suite in order to manage volunteers more efficiently, track donors and partners, and build our general contact database. We're searching for a tech savvy hero that would love to flex their muscle and earn a great reputation and great recommendation. This is a great opportunity for someone to test their skills in a real world setting where you can learn and practice without much risk!
Basic tasks would include:
Setting up volunteer web portal
Merging existing CRM data to Salesforce
Providing outline of work performed and how process was achieved

Description
In 2009, a handful of volunteers were moved to start the Chicago chapter of StandUp for Kids by making sandwiches in a Lakeview church basement. Along with providing street outreach services, we have a safe drop-in center (2012) for our Chicago’s homeless youth to relax and socialize, as well as a hot meal and access to our closet to obtain much needed clothing and personal items. Further, the youth have access to our volunteers who are there to help to the best of their ability with homework, and/or interview training, mentoring, counseling and emotional support.
We seek volunteers for our drop in center evenings (Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday) as well as volunteer groups who would like to supply meals to our youth.
