At ChickTech, we believe every girl and woman has the right to fulfill their true potential. Through a variety of confidence and skill building experiences, we uplift and empower girls and women through the lens of technology. In the end, our goal is to get and keep girls and women in high tech and show them they are capable of doing - and being - anything they desire. Through service across the country, community members are joining us to bring these experiences to the girls and women who need them the most.
The HS Volunteer Coordinator is a true leadership position under the Volunteer Director and, provides insight for the entire ChickTech: Volunteer program. This role will be responsible for the ChickTech-OC’s volunteer recruitment program by understanding the needs of our organization and how to best help it.
The perfect candidate for the High School Volunteer Coordinator will be kind, outgoing, trustworthy, experienced people manager and strategic planner, is passionate about empowering girls and women in technology, and is able to make a sustained, long-term commitment.

General Responsibilities
- Fundraise for necessary volunteer recruitment events under the guidance of the Volunteer Director
- Recruit volunteers through a wide range of resources: networking, technology companies, conferences, virtually, social media, and more.
- Timely response (within 3 days) to the Volunteer Director
- Works independently on tasks given (e.g., recruitment, asks questions when stumped, etc.) and is flexible given other tasks
- Understand potential volunteers and why they want to volunteer for our organization and determine if they are a good fit.
- Documentation as needed
Requirements
- Age 14-18
- Commits to 3 months of volunteering
- Able to volunteer 2-5 hours a week.

ChickTech is dedicated to retaining women and non-binary people in the technology workforce and increasing the number of people of marginalized genders pursuing technology-based careers.
Description
ChickTech is a multi-generational community helping each other become technology creators. We facilitate hands-on technology-centric events and mentorship to empower, support, and increase the confidence of girls, women, and non-binary folks. Through our programs, we build community, empower participants to see themselves as leaders, and provide networking and mentoring opportunities in the rapidly growing tech industry.
As a mostly volunteer-run non-profit, we are always searching for partners who would like to get involved through donations of expertise, volunteer time, in-kind, funding, or just by helping to get the word out.
