POSITION SUMMARY : Seeking a Donor Relations Development Director, to develop and manage all aspects of the organization’s fundraising strategy, focusing on donor relationships and managing lower-level fundraising and donor relations team member(s). This position will implement and manage an overall plan, including writing and researching grants, fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, maintaining donor relationships, and planning special events. Candidate(s) will be able to identify potential donors and cultivate relationships with individuals, foundations and community partners. Both junior and senior candidates will be considered. There is potential for this role to develop into a paid position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge of basic nonprofit fund development techniques and strategies
- Ability to successfully design and implement donor cultivation, solicitation and retention strategies
- Experience communicating an organization's needs in order to drive short-term and long-term financial development goals
- Experience in grant writing
- Experience in grant research

PREFERRED:
- Experience working with websites, social media, email and print campaigns
- Leadership experience
- Experience managing teams and/or other individuals
- Knowledge and/or experience about addiction, including addiction programs
- Knowledge and/or experience about mental health
- Knowledge and/or experience about Christianity
-Resident in Dayton, Ohio area.

DUTIES : Responsible for creating and overseeing overall fundraising strategy, including donor cultivation and maintenance. Position will bu ild and maintain professional relationships with Mission Addiction sponsors and supporters and practice effective communication when representing the organization in all business development and donor cultivation activities. Responsible for managing all lower-level fundraising and donor relations team-members, including holding team meetings, and/or one-on-one meetings as necessary, giving assignments, and monitoring work product.

- Oversee overall development of fundraising campaigns, including timelines and all operational elements, such as printing mail, event-related campaigns, brochures, invitations, posters, ads, newsletters, etc.
- Identify, solicit and cultivate individual donors and businesses/corporations to secure monetary and in-kind sponsorships and donations
- Coordinate fundraising and donor cultivation events
- Coordinate sponsorships and in-kind donations
- Build relationships with community stakeholders to advance the mission of the organization
- Participate in MA activities and/or meetings to understand the mission and personnel needs
