50/50 Leadership was founded in 2004 to promote women’s equal leadership. Women are half the population; our vision is that they be half the leaders.
Money 101 is our financial literacy program for women who did not receive basic money management skills growing up. Many of them grew up in foster care, some are unhoused, formerly incarcerated, and/or survivors of gender-based violence.Although this is a very basic course, a solid understanding of personal finance and money management are needed. This includes knowing the difference between banks and credit unions; budgeting and goal setting; how to save; the ins and outs of credit - when to use it, and how to clean it up. We particularly appreciate if you have a story of coming through adversity to success.
What is not basic about this course is that these women have lived through much trauma and present their own challenges so a great deal of compassion is needed.
If you can adapt on your feet, be 100% non-judgmental, and truly open to wanting to give these women the skills and knowledge for them to build a financial foundation for their lives, this will be a very rich and rewarding opportunity for you.
The workshops are on zoom, there is ample training and you are always partnered with another facilitator. We are looking for compassionate and dynamic folks that can impart wisdom and empower these participants!

Description
Established in 2004, we provide financial literacy programs to young women who have grown up in foster care, been incarcerated, been unhoused, and/or survived gender-based violence. In the past, we led leadership training programs and honored women who are making a difference around the world.
We feel that every girl and woman should have the opportunity to realize their leadership potential. Whether they are a leader in their home, at work, school or in the community.
We are women and men from all walks of life who agree that leadership should reflect the gender of the population: women make up more than half of the U.S. population and should be equally included in boardrooms, elected offices, academia, and all public and private enterprises and endeavors.
