Do you have a strong faith background?
Are you willing to pray and read Scripture?
Are you comfortable talking on the phone?
Do you have a supportive demeanor?
Are you able to listen?
Are you comfortable supporting the terminally ill and their loved ones?
Can you respect the religious beliefs of another without pushing your own beliefs?

Hospice patients and their families are often isolated by the pain or inconvenience of their illness and may be unable to participate in religious activities. Prayer call volunteers provide prayer or Scripture readings by phone to the patient/family to give them the spiritual support they have been missing. You may also be asked to call families after the death of their loved one to pray with them.

Training and periodic meetings are held in person so you do need to live within one hour of our location, But once trained, you can make calls from our location or from your own home. This is an extremely rewarding role and you need little experience, just a willingness to pray and support others.
