Could you donate a few hours a week to visit with a hospice patient who resides in Johnson County? Your schedule and travel area are up to you. Share memories, play cards, read to them, or just sit quietly while they rest. The family may leave the home for a short time to run errands or go to an appointment. Shifts are usually once weekly for a few hours. Be the spiritual light in a hospice family's life! Pray with a patient and their family, and offer support and a listening ear. We welcome those of different faiths and religions. The majority of our patients are Christian but we do have occasional need for Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Native American, and Islamic spiritual volunteers. Must be faith-minded and involved in religious activities. Couples are welcome. Must have some experience or education in a religious setting. Examples: church deacon, Bible study leader, Sunday school teacher, retired pastor, current chaplain, completion of a pastoral education certificate, etc. Visit days/times can vary, based on your availability You can choose your geographic service area within the 7 counties that we serve Must have a valid driver's license Must pass a background check Must be 21 years of age or older

The Olathe Hospice House is a lovely, calm environment where staff and volunteers care for hospice patients and their families. Are you positive, patient, and professional? Then we need your smile at our front desk lobby! You would: Welcome families and visitors Direct maintenance personnel Make coffee Alphabetize paperwork Compile newsletters and admission packets Answer basic phone calls - call volume is extremely low Be responsible and committed - come in when you're scheduled to be here Evening and weekend shifts are available - you need to cover just two shifts per month, when your schedule permits. Must be16 years of age or older. A background check, training, and a few immunizations are required. We would love to meet you and make you a part of our amazing volunteer team!

The Olathe Hospice House is a lovely environment with staff and volunteers caring for hospice patients and their families. We were just gifted a beautiful piano. and we need volunteers to play in our lobby! Could you bring the joy of music to us? You'll be able to: Play a variety of complete songs Provide your own music - song choices would be yours, with some limitations Choose volunteer shifts that fit your schedule (you'll play 30-60 minutes) Work independently - you won't be micromanaged You're required to: Be 16 years of age or older Pass a background check Complete our training and immunization process Have a sense of responsibility/commitment - you'll need to be there when you're scheduled We look forward to meeting you and hearing you play!
