Could you donate a few hours a week to visit with a hospice patient who resides in Miami County? Share memories, play cards, read to them, or just sit quietly in the home while they rest. Shifts are usually once weekly for a few hours but we're flexible. Your schedule and travel area are up to you. No direct patient care is required - just a caring heart. Be the spiritual light in a hospice family's life! Pray with a patient and their family, and offer support and a listening ear. We welcome those of different faiths and religions. The majority of our patients are Christian but we do have occasional need for Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Native American, and Islamic spiritual volunteers. Must be faith-minded and involved in religious activities. Couples are welcome. Some experience or education in a religious setting is preferable. Examples: church deacon, Bible study leader, Sunday school teacher, retired pastor, current chaplain, Eucharist provider, and/or completion of a pastoral education certificate We're flexible - your schedule and travel area are up to you You get to choose the geographic area where you'll serve Must have a valid driver's license Must be 21 years of age or older and pass a background check Become part of our dynamic volunteer team! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

The Olathe Hospice House is a calm, friendly environment where staff and volunteers support our hospice patients and their families. Are you positive, patient and compassionate? Do you have a ready smile? Then we need you in our House lobby! Welcome families Direct visitors Alphabetize paperwork, compile newsletters and welcome packets Make coffee Warm soup and cookies (no cooking required!) Day and evening shifts available - choose what's best for you! Be responsible and committed - come in when you're scheduled to be here 3 hours per shift, 2 shifts per month (or once weekly if you prefer! Must be16 years of age or older. Background check, training, and a few immunizations are required. Be an integral part of our dynamic volunteer team!

The Olathe Hospice House is a lovely environment with staff caring for hospice patients and their families. We were just gifted a beautiful piano and we need volunteers to play in our lobby! Would you please bring the joy of music to us? You'll be able to: Play a variety of complete songs Provide your own music - song choices would be yours, with some limitations Choose volunteer shifts that fit your schedule (you'll play 30-60 minutes) Work independently - you won't be micromanaged You'll have to: Be 16 years of age or older Pass a background check Have a sense of responsibility/commitment - you'll need to be there when you're scheduled We look forward to meeting you and hearing you play!
