Database Administrator

Job Purpose

The Database Administrator will ensure timely and accurate processing of data which includes developing and maintaining systems for data cleansing, report preparation, list generation, data and gift entry, relationship management, and support with various mailings. The position also assists with gift and data processing, as needed.

The Database Administrator will report to the Operations Director and be a member of the larger operations team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform development, testing, implementation, documentation, and update tasks relating to the CRM and other integrated applications
  • Create (design, document, build) and manage (test, deploy) custom objects, fields, formulas, validation rules, custom workflow, approval processes, and other enhancements to CRM
  • Create and ensure adherence to a manual of policies and procedures for gift and acknowledgement processing, donor information tracking, list management, reporting and queries, record retention, etc
    • Policies and practices
    • Project task management
    • Process documentation and improvement
    • Data quality and accessibility
    • Information systems implementations and integrations
Desired Qualifications and Skills
  • In depth experience with CRMs, preferably within a non-profit environment
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity, integration, and performance issues; troubleshooting and optimizing queries and reports
  • Strong knowledge of backups, restores, and recovery models
  • Ability to work independently while also supporting a team
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, particularly relating to the management of external vendors
  • Ability to exercise strict confidentiality with regard to sensitive information
  • Strong analytical skills
Time Requirement : Approximately 5-10 Hours Per Week
