L.E.A.D is a week-long conference designed to prepare and train after-school management staff for the start of the school year. We need volunteers like YOU to ensure that the conference runs smoothly each day. This is a great opportunity to work with the folks that are working with the children on a daily basis and furthering New York Edge's mission of giving students the edge they need to succeed. You can volunteer for a shift, a day or the whole week!

Volunteers will assist with the following tasks:

  • Organize and serve breakfast, lunch and snacks
  • Assist with workshop transitions
  • Ensure staff sign in and receive training materials
  • Set up supplies and equipment in workshop rooms
  • Assist with distributing Giveaways
  • Distribute and collect surveys from facilitators

Shift 1 8:30am-1:30pm
Shift 2 1:30-5:30 (clean-up)
Breakfast and Lunch is provided!

The mission of New York Edge is to help bridge the opportunity gap among underserved students by providing programs designed to improve academic performance, health and wellness, self-confidence, character and attitudes for success in life.

Description

Operating between three and five days each week for 36 weeks during the school year in most programs, we offer combined academic enrichment curricula including: literacy, STEM, leadership, High School Today College Tomorrow (HSTCT) and Middle School Today High School Tomorrow (MSTHST) with sports and wellness, music, visual and performing arts opportunities and trips to educational and cultural institutions.
