ORGANIZATION: RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program) of Washtenaw County

The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is seeking volunteers to engage with residents in Washtenaw County as you help deliver meals to their home.

What you could be doing as a Volunteer:

  • Organize and sort food in a warehouse or pantry
  • Pick up food at a distribution site
  • Deliver to homebound people on an assigned route
    • Make someone's day brighter!
  • Prep meals
  • Help an adult navigate through a pantry

Training:

  • Receive orientation and a tour of the site
  • One to four hours of training, depending on duty assigned

Requirements:

  • Must be 55 or older to join RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program)
  • Minimum two-four hours per month or as needed
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to drive
  • Flexible schedules
  • Depending on opportunity, must be able to do heavy lifting (50lbs) and brisk walking will be required
