95% of the work at the store involves cleaning, either the store itself or items that are coming in. Staff and volunteers spend the bulk of their time cleaning incoming appliances and furniture, doing laundry, sorting and cleaning dishes and housewares, vacuuming, dusting, mopping, etc.

Some volunteers carry out more specialized tasks if they have a lot of experience in certain areas like books, computers, etc. Other volunteers help with staging and merchandising if they have retail experience or a good eye for spacial relationships. Some volunteers help create flyers or sale signs, or help keep up with our social media. Volunteers who are physically able often help with loading and moving furniture and appliances.

Maybe you know ways to enhance certain merchandise areas in the store, or you have promotional ideas or special skills we haven't thought of using before. Please, feel free to speak up and help!
