Would you like to make a meaningful difference in the lives of elderly residents of nursing and assisted living facilities? Are you empathetic, diplomatic and assertive, with good communication skills? You may have found the perfect volunteer opportunity for you! Become a Long-term Care Ombudsman volunteer and advocate for the rights of older adults living in facilities.

Volunteer ombudsmen visit local nursing or assisted living facilities during weekdays, 4 hours/week (for a minimum of 1 year). They work to protect resident rights and help to resolve problems. Volunteers receive ongoing training and support. Loudoun County has a shortage of volunteer ombudsman advocates. Please consider this important and enriching endeavor.

The next new ombudsman training will be on September 12, 14 and 20, 2018 (Save Sept. 21)
