The Shelter Associate creates a positive, supportive shelter environment while interacting empathically with clients, allowing clients to be heard, keeping an open door attitude for questions & concerns, sharing appropriate recovery/disaster information, encouraging Welfare Information activities and delegating appropriate tasks to shelter residents.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to work as a team player and to motivate others in team building.
- Ability to create a positive, supportive shelter environment while interacting empathically with clients, allowing clients to be heard, keeping an open-door attitude for questions & concerns, sharing appropriate recovery/disaster information, encouraging welfare Information activities, and delegating appropriate tasks to shelter residents.
- Ability to follow and implement requests received from a supervisor with little or no supervision.
