Are you looking to gain experience as a volunteer coordinator? The Volunteers of America Grocery Program is looking for a lead volunteer to help coordinate the program. The volunteer coordinator will help manage partnerships with Safeway, grocery clients, and other volunteers. The volunteer coordinator will work closely with the VOA program coordinator and will learn the ins and outs of a local nonprofit organization.
The VOA Grocery Program runs in Loveland on Tuesdays and in Fort Collins on Thursdays, with room to grow to other surrounding areas. Through the program, volunteers call, shop, and deliver groceries to home bound seniors and other community members with limitations keeping them from securing their own groceries. The Volunteer Coordinator would be responsible for problem solving on the day of delivery. Duties would include, filling in as a caller, shopper, or driver volunteer when needed, exchanging items as needed, and working with Safeway to ensure the program runs smoothly each week.
The Volunteer coordinator can be responsible for the Loveland Program or the Fort Collins Program, or both, depending on the volunteer's schedule, availability, and experience. Please contact the VOA office with questions and details about next steps to becoming involved!
