Do you want to make a difference in the lives of girls in your community? Volunteer to Coach with Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia this Fall!
Girls on the Run is a youth development program for girls in 3rd through 8th grade that creatively integrates running. The 10 week curriculum-based program helps girls build skills to be strong, confident, and healthy. As a coach, you'll be trained to guide small teams in practice twice a week. You'll lead your team of girls in valuable lessons and teamwork building, while working up to running a 5K at the end of the season.
Coaching a Girls on the Run team is one of the most rewarding ways to get involved with GOTR NOVA. Coaching provides a first-hand experience of the program and a sense of accomplishment, knowing that you have made a difference in the lives of the girls on your team.
At Bonnie Brae Elementary School, we are in need of two Assistant coaches! This team practices Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-4:30PM. If you are interested in volunteering or learning more, please contact Nicole Harrison at nharrison@gotrnova.org.
To register as a coach for the Fall 2018 season, you can fill out an application here: https://www.raceplanner.com/volunteer/signup/new-coach-fall-18
