Transform lives with Girls on the Run of Northern Virginia at Kent Gardens Elementary School The impact of a Girls on the Run volunteer coach is as boundless as it is beautiful. Coaches work to support the Girls on the Run vision of a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams. So lace up your sneakers and inspire a group of participants to be strong, confident, and healthy! Girls on the Run is a youth development program for girls in 3rd through 8th grade that creatively integrates running and physical movement. Teams of volunteer coaches are trained to facilitate our easy-to-follow curriculum with small groups of participants twice a week over the course of a ten week season. No prior coaching experience or running ability is needed. All we ask is that you are ready and willing to reliably share your time, energy, and talents throughout the season. During the season, teams typically meet twice a week for 60-90 minute sessions. GOTR NOVA encourages applications from minorities, people with disabilities, individuals who are bilingual and all other qualified applicants. Coaches are required to commit to 2-3 hours per week for the season, with a few additional hours required for Coach Training and the GOTR NOVA season ending 5K celebration. Kent Gardens Elementary School will have two teams - one team will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:45 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and one team will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. GOTR’s Spring 2024 Season starts the week of March 4, 2024 and ends on May 19, 2024.
