ORGANIZATION: Sarasota Police Department Citizen Volunteer Program

We are looking for volunteers who will perform duties related to providing crisis intervention services to crime victims and their families through the Victim Advocate Program at the Sarasota Police Department. Applicants must have an open, non-judgemental attitude toward victims of crime and trauma. Genuine concerns and empathy for victims of a crime and trauma are necessary qualities. Responsibilities include assisting crime victims and their families with compensation claims and victim impact statements, providing information regarding victim rights and related work assigned. These duties are office related. Work is performed under the supervision of the Victim Advocate Coordinator.
