RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet visitors and answer general inquiries about library, programming and rentals.
- Check membership status of visitors and process new memberships
- Conduct brief library tours for new and prospective members
- Check books in and out to members
- Help patrons locate books
- Assist with shelving and setting up book displays
- Answer the phone, directing calls and questions to the appropriate staff person
- Provide clerical assistance as requested -- mailings, marketing materials, copying etc.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires excellent interpersonal skills, a love of books and bibliophiles, and a general knowledge about libraries and library functioning.
SCHEDULE
The front desk time is for 3-4 hour shifts, Monday through Friday with flexible work hours. Evening hours are available Wednesday & Thursday.
