Young Mothers, Inc. is partnering with Paramount CDC in the Washington D.C metropolitan area to provide our B.A.M Youth Sports Academy (YSA). B.A.M stands for Boundless Advanced Minorities Movement.

Our program provides opportunities for our undeserved youth ages 2-12 to experience sports development, health and wellness, community service and personal development. Those who participate in this program will develop a healthy lifestyle through balance, calmness, determination, confidence and willpower.

We want to encourage healthy eating and would like a volunteer to come in two days a week to provide healthy snacks and a light lesson on how to eat healthier.

Responsibilities:

• Procures foods and supplies following established procedures
• Develops descriptions for foods and supplies according to federal, state and local regulations
• Designs measures for sampling and evaluating foods and supplies
• Processes and recommends purchase of all food and supplies
• Works directly with vendors and managers evaluating price and quality of food and supplies
• Obtain considerable knowledge of the requirements of the Child Nutrition Program
• use and maintain equipment used in food service cafeterias
• display a working knowledge of institutional packaging of food products

Qualifications:

-Obtain considerable knowledge of the requirements of the Child Nutrition Program
- use and maintain equipment used in food service cafeterias
- display a working knowledge of institutional packaging of food products
- compute servings per purchased unit
- communicate well with parents, school and program staff, vendors, and the
general public
- competently use a variety of computer applications including Microsoft Word,
Excel, Works, etc.
