Volunteer along the Cedar River at Ron Regis Park!
ORGANIZATION: Forterra
Please visit the new page to apply.
While we’re all enjoying the sunny days, the young plants we planted this winter at Ron Regis Park are a little thirsty! What’s more, there are a number of weeds that are beginning to crowd them out. Join Forterra staff for a fun morning along the Cedar River as we work together to create healthy habitat for wildlife.
All ages welcome, and no experience necessary. Tools, gloves, instruction and snacks are provided, and we can sign off on community service credit requirements.
Where to Meet: Meet at the tent set up near the parking lot and basketball court. The meeting spot is easily accessible by foot or bike from the Cedar River Trail, or there is plenty of parking.
What to Bring: Come dressed to work outside (rain or shine) in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty. Wear sturdy closed-toe shoes (rubber boots, hiking/tennis shoes), long sleeves, long pants, warm layers and rain jacket. Volunteers under the age of 18 should bring a signed youth waiverwith them to the event.
If you have questions or would like to RSVP, please email Alex Selvey ( aselvey@forterra.org).

Mission Statement
Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.
Description
Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
