help transform a house into a home
for three, well-deserving women!
Beverages, lunch, and dinner will be provided
What can I do?
- Yard work - pull weeds, trim bushes and trees, and remove rock/mulch, playground equipment, clothing line and fence
- Garage - Remove screen door and confirm that garage door opener works
* Front Stoop - Replace front door screen, and possibly build new stoop around the existing concrete stoop that is crumbling
- Kitchen - replace kitchen sink, lay new flooring, contact paper inside cupboards, repair refrigerator door
- Downstairs bedroom - install closet door
- Bathrooms - replace vanity, toilet and flooring in downstairs, and replace shower head in upstairs
- Dining room - Minor repairs to dining room table and chairs (wood glue and screws)
- Deck - Stain
- Cleaning - entire house inside and out...bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, living rooms, bathrooms, windows, etc.
- Install three new door locks
What should I bring?
- Vacuum, mop, broom, cleaning chemicals, buckets, rags and sponges
- Yard equipment, excluding a lawn mower
- Extra light bulbs, if you have them laying around and are willing to donate
- Shovel, rack, trowel, edger, work gloves, and something that will work to trim small and large branches from a bush and tree
- Tool box with essentials, including drill, hammer, nails, utility knife, etc.
I can't make it on the 28th, what else can I do?

- Finally, we are accepting all the new and gently-used items. Please sign-up for the item you would like to donate at the above link. For the privacy of our residents, I will reply to you with the house address once I have received your sign-up. You can pick one of three convenient times to drop off your item(s):
- Thursday, July 26 - 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Friday, July 27 - 4 to 8 p.m.

The Anoka County RSVP connects people age 55 and over who want to volunteer with non-profit and social service programs in Anoka County who need volunteers. Volunteers enroll by completing a skills and interests checklist and these are matched to community needs. From the matches, the volunteer selects a volunteer job that is meaningful and fits.
