Do you have experience writing grants?
Roots for Life is looking for an experienced volunteer grant-proposal researcher and writer.
Expectations
You will work remotely and on your own schedule, though we require a minimum commitment of 10 -15 hours a month. Our staff are full-time working volunteers, we communicate mostly through email. All staff are required to respond to emails on a daily basis. If you possess a high level of self-motivation, work well independently, strive for excellence, and can commit quality time per week on a regular basis to help achieve team goals, we’d like to hear from you.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporations
- Perform prospect research on foundations and corporations to evaluate prospects for corporate and foundation grants
- Assess our organization's programs, goals and financial needs
- Create timely and accurate reports of existing grant-funded projects
- Assist with other fundraising projects as requested
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience with grant writing
- Proficient Internet research skills
- Familiarity with Foundation Directory Online or other databases
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Interest in public health, food, and nutrition
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
