Overview

The individual selected will be responsible will wear the bucket shape mascot costume, creating an engaging persona, generating and encouraging community engagement, interaction, and interest in The Salvation Army as well as entertain and excite patrons. In this seasonal role, the mascot will report to Special Events Director. The mascot is a highly visible representative of The Salvation Army. The person who performs must accept the responsibility that they are a representative of The Salvation Army, and in doing so also commits to perform in accordance with the standards and expectations of the organization representing The Salvation Army at various events throughout the community.

Responsibilities

• Energetically maneuver around inside and outside while wearing the mascot.
• Have a positive attitude and be willing to pose for pictures, shake hands and high five.
• Have effectively communicate using body gestures.
• Perform any or all of the above while being pursued by dozens of children who merely wish to say hello.

Qualifications

• Due to costume restrictions, candidates must be at least 5 feet 7 inches tall but no more than 6' 2" feet tall
• Flexible schedule to work holidays, evenings and weekends;
• Works well with children and adults
• Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs
• Have neat black plants and clean black shoes to wear with costume
