Do you enjoy putting furniture or tables together? Then this is is the perfect job for you! The BUILD SHOP has work areas covered with carpet so you do not have to bend down or worry about scratching the furniture! NO EXPERIENCE...THEY WILL BE HAPPY TO TRAIN YOU!

This non-profit promotes self-sufficiency for those who struggle with basic furniture needs. They turn an empty house into a home by providing the basics like: a bed to sleep in, table and chairs to eat at, sofas to relax on, pots & pans to cook with and towels for bathing.

BUILD SHOP - Tues- Friday - morning shifts available

Build shop volunteers assemble new items from box/disassembled items donated by our corporate

partners in our fully equipped build shop. They play a critical role in helping us maintain the inventory

necessary to cater to the 130+ families we serve each month and allow us to offer brand new items to

our clients. YOU MAY VOLUNTEER BY YOURSELF OR THIS WOULD ALSO BE A FUN ACTIVITY FOR TWO OR THREE VOLUNTEERS TO PARTICIPATE IN! Everyone in the group would need to complete an application form.

  • 2+ hour shifts
  • Working in groups or as individuals
  • Require some critical thinking as items are donated as it and may be missing instructions,

hardware, etc.

  • IKEA assembly
  • Testing/making repairs to small electrical items

INFORMATION ABOUT RSVP (Retired and Senior Volunteer Program) Age 55 and older

Are you 55 years of age or older? Would you like to make an impact and improve your community? Then you are a perfect candidate for the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)!

RSVP is a part of a national network of programs called "Senior Corps" that recruits adults 55 and older to use their talents and life experience to help meet community needs through volunteer service. The focus of RSVP is to incorporate meaningful volunteer opportunities that provide purpose and a way to give back to the community.

Did you know that volunteers live longer? And there are health benefits of being needed and appreciated, and you have the opportunity to try new things and meet new people.

By joining this program, you become part of a national Senior Corp movement of hundreds of thousands of volunteers striving to help their communities.

We have a yearly recognition luncheon and a gift for everyone who is a member of RSVP. We also hold smaller events, such as ice cream socials and coffee and pastries throughout the year to celebrate YOU and the contribution of your time and dedication to helping your community.

RSVP is sponsored by Lutheran Community Services Northwest, a private, not-for-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of the people it serves.

INTERESTED or have questions? Please email or call and we will mail or email an RSVP application for you to complete.
