ORGANIZATION: Community Health Outreach Project of Cal State University, East bay

The Community Health Outreach Project is looking for experienced English as Second Language teachers and students majoring in English to become part of our all student-run and non-profit organization of Cal State University, East Bay, Pre-professional Health Academic Program. You will become part of the rewarding journey of teaching ESL classes to immigrants and helping them to integrate into the society. The curriculum will focus on conversational English.

Each class will be approximately an hour long. The commitment is flexible and we will work around your schedule, but ideally, we are hoping to find someone who can commit for a reasonable period of time. We'd love to have your help!

Our mission is to develop true leaders in community service by collaboratively creating and hosting health education workshops and screenings for medically disadvantaged communities. Coordinators have the opportunity to develop their own programs through our collective support system and become leaders for communities who desperately need them. We are currently recruiting motivated students to join us as fellow coordinators in making a positive impact in these communities.

Description

The Community Health Outreach Project is a student-run community organization co-founded by a group of pre-medical students from CSU East Bay Pre-professional Health Academic Program. The organization was established in 2017 with a focus to provide health-related workshops to the underserved populations in Hayward and surrounding areas. We have been working closely with several low-income housing projects, and our network is rapidly expanding.
